First off let’s get this out there, I am a Christian, but I will say I am not perfect and everyone is welcome here. I will probably post scriptures and other Christ centered things. He is a big part of my life and who I am; He is why I can always choose JOY!
Also I believe in alternative medicine. I’m not saying quit whatever meds you are on or that I have all my facts perfectly straight. I just know what works well for me in tandem with my medication. There is a lot of natural solutions to health problems that we don’t really consider in Western culture. I also think that getting healthy does start in the kitchen and some fitness wouldn’t go awry either 😉
Now that we have gotten all that out of the way!!!!
So who is this crazy person? Well I am a lot of things… I am a seamstress, singer, hugger, friend, sister, daughter, avid reader, youth mentor, mentee, part-time researcher, mini-chef, and I guess now a writer of sorts. I think sometimes others or even we, ourselves, forget that we are a lot more than our disease and we have a lot more to give, live, and look forward to! Yes I do have Wilson’s Disease (WD) yeah it’s not the best thing to draw out of the lottery of life, but it’s livable. For me WD is something to conquer and not to submit. To me this new chapter I’ve turned in life is the next great adventure. Frodo and Sam went through some horrible experiences. I mean really, that ring not only made them feel all of the negative feelings in the WORLD, but it also drew hate from every side! That aside, man did it make for a very riveting and inspiring tale that has transcended from one century to the next. I think of fighting a disease like that; like an epic journey where you have 2 choices you can either allow it to crush you or let it push you and others onto higher heights. I choose to see the mountain and know there will be challenges, but I can’t wait to see the view! It’s not always going to be easy nor am I always successful, but like Ms. Montgomery always said “tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet” ~ Anne of Green Gables, Lucy Maud Montgomery, Scholastic Classics, p.213. Cause there IS a tomorrow where you can try to do better and accomplish more and the next day after that! I hope you will take this journey with me and push through the yuck to get to the good. Here is to the unknown, the wins, the challenges, ups and the downs, but most of all here is living your new chapter… cause your life is worth fighting for! ♥♥♥
